Comment Policy

Comments are open on this site because conversation sharpens us. Sermons, lessons, and studies here are meant to be thought about, questioned, and worked out together — not just read and closed. Your questions and pushback are genuinely welcome.

That said, a public comment section only stays useful if it stays civil. This page explains what to expect.

What’s welcome

  • Honest questions — including ones you think might sound uninformed.
  • Respectful disagreement. You do not have to agree with me to comment here.
  • Scripture, context, or correction that adds to the discussion.
  • Personal reflection on how a passage or lesson landed for you.

What gets removed

Comments are moderated. These will not be published:

  • Personal attacks, name-calling, or contempt toward anyone — including people not in the conversation.
  • Profanity, obscenity, or sexual content.
  • Spam, advertising, affiliate links, or link-dropping unrelated to the post.
  • Attacks on a person’s character, denomination, or church rather than engagement with the actual argument.
  • Repeatedly reposting the same point after it has been answered.
  • Anything that identifies or shares private details about another person.
  • Impersonating someone else, or commenting under a misleading name.

How moderation works

  • Your first comment is held for approval. After that, approved commenters usually post without delay.
  • I read comments personally, so approval can take a day or two.
  • Removal is not a verdict on you. Sometimes a comment is simply off-topic for that post.
  • Comments on older posts may be closed to limit spam.
  • I may edit a comment only to remove a link, an email address, or a phone number.

Your information

Leaving a comment stores the name, email address, and comment you submit, along with your IP address, so the site can display the comment and filter spam. Your email address is never published and is not used for marketing.

If you would like a comment of yours edited or deleted, just ask and I will take care of it.

One last thing

This is my personal site, so the call on what stays up is mine. I would much rather err toward leaving a hard question standing than toward a tidy comment section. If you think I have moderated something unfairly, write to me at hi@arnoldfamini.com and I will genuinely reconsider.
