About Arnold Famini

I’m Arnold Famini, a pastor, church planter, and teacher here in Manila.

I studied theology at the Adventist University of the Philippines, where I graduated cum laude and received the Christian Service Award. Right now I serve as church planter for the AMiCUS-UP Diliman Adventist Church, under the Central Luzon Conference.

This coming August 1, 2026 marks three years of pastoral ministry, church planting, and campus ministry. That is not a long time, and I know it. But it has been long enough to notice that the questions people actually carry are usually simpler, and heavier, than the ones we tend to argue about.

This site is where I put the work. Sermons, Sabbath School lesson notes, Bible studies, book reviews, and articles. All of it free.

Where Arnold Famini serves

AMiCUS is the Adventist ministry to college and university students, and UP Diliman is where the plant is.

Campus ministry has its own rhythm. Your members graduate. The people you disciple move away after four years, sometimes sooner, and you begin again with a new set of faces. It makes it very hard to measure the work by the size of the room, which is probably good for me.

What I care about most

Let me be clear. I care about theology. I care about Adventist identity, our message, our mission, and our history. Those things are not decorations.

But most people are asking a more basic question: what does the Bible say? And underneath that, how do I find peace when I do not know the future, how do I raise my children in this world, how do I keep trusting God when my plans are unclear.

So what I am after here is discipleship, not debate. Not settling every argument, but helping people behold Christ, follow Christ, and become like Christ.

I also try to work slowly. I use the fast tools and I am glad we have them. But I want output I can still remember a year from now, and that usually means doing the thinking by hand.

How to use this site

Most people arrive looking for one specific thing. If you teach a Sabbath School class, start with the SSL notes. If you are preparing a sermon, the archive gives you the manuscripts. If you are studying with someone one-to-one, the Bible study guides are sequenced so you can work through them in order, or pull a single study out on its own when a particular question comes up.

The Sabbath School lesson notes follow the current quarter and go up weekly. They are written to be read on a weeknight and taught on Sabbath morning without much extra work on your side.

The sermon archive holds full manuscripts rather than outlines, so you can see how an argument was actually built and not just where it landed. The Bible study guides are sequenced for one-to-one work or a small group. The book reviews are honest, including about the books I did not fully get on with. The articles are where the longer theological questions go, the ones that need more room than a sermon allows.

If you are working with students, most of this transfers directly. Campus groups are the setting I know best, and a fair amount of the material here was first taught to a room of undergraduates before it ever reached this site.

Why all of it is free

Everything on this site is self-funded. There is no paywall, no course to upsell you, and nothing gated behind an email address, although you are welcome to join the mailing list if you want the new material as it appears.

I keep it that way for a simple reason. The people most likely to need a set of lesson notes on a Friday night are lay teachers and student leaders who are already giving their time for nothing. Asking them to pay for the preparation would be the wrong way round.

Can I use these with a campus or student group?
Yes, and that is the setting most of it was built for. AMiCUS groups, campus fellowships, and student Bible studies are all welcome to take whatever is useful.

Can I reuse your sermons and study notes in my own church?
Yes, and I would be glad if you did. No attribution required.

What tradition does Arnold Famini write from?
I am a Seventh-day Adventist pastor, and that shapes how I read Scripture and what I emphasize. That said, most of what is here is written so that any Christian reader can use it without friction.

Do you accept speaking invitations?
